BIO
Alberto Ruiz Villar (Barcelona, 1970) es un artista visual que vive y trabaja en Barcelona. Formado en diseño gráfico en la Escola Massana, ha trabajado como director de arte y fotógrafo, y actualmente imparte Art Direction en el IED Barcelona. Su práctica explora la intersección entre estructura e instinto, construyendo un lenguaje visual que traza el mapa del miedo, el tiempo y la memoria.
Su obra surge del cruce entre mapas, estratos y cicatrices — tres estados que revelan las marcas del confinamiento, el azar y la continuidad. Cada composición se despliega como un territorio en capas donde la superficie se convierte al mismo tiempo en herida y arquitectura. Ha expuesto en Rhodes Contemporary Art (Londres) y The Invisible Line Gallery (Londres), junto a artistas como Banksy, Damien Hirst y Nick Smith. Sus obras forman parte de colecciones privadas en Europa, Norteamérica y Oriente Medio.

Ruiz Villar se inspira en el paso del tiempo, la arquitectura emocional del miedo y la memoria, y el delicado equilibrio entre el orden y el accidente. Su uso de arcos, proporción y precisión geométrica refleja una afinidad con La Fábrica de Ricardo Bofill y los espacios metafísicos de Giorgio de Chirico — traduciendo la arquitectura en pintura y la pintura en un mapa del yo.
