Carlos Delgado: Live Painting Series 2025/26

Carlos Delgado is a Colombian-Canadian abstract artist celebrated for his electrifying live painting performances, where blank canvases slowly transform into monumental artworks in real time. His events are more than performances — they are absorbing journeys. Spectators often find themselves captivated by the rhythm of his brushstrokes, the evolving forms on canvas, and the way Carlos speaks to the audience throughout the process, guiding them into his world.

With a rich online presence of more than 160,000 followers and collectors including actress Sophie Turner, Delgado brings both international reach and authentic intimacy. Rooted in his background in the Colombian mountains, he connects with people in a direct, colloquial way, making each event as memorable as the painted composition itself.

For 2025/26, we are looking for spaces and collaborators in Barcelona and beyond to host or book Carlos Delgado’s next live painting performances.

Live painting: 2024

In 2023 we hosted Carlos’s first live painting at Matiz Gallery, followed in 2024 by two performances — at Hotel Almanac’s Azimuth terrace bar and again in our Born gallery. 2025/26 will mark the third time we bring Carlos to Barcelona, expanding this unique series of unforgettable events.

Carlos Live painting 2023.

When we first brought Carlos to Barcelona in 2023, he spent a full week painting live in our gallery in Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera (El Born). The process was documented in a short video, offering a glimpse into how his performances unfold — brushstroke by brushstroke, dialogue with the public, and the gradual emergence of the final composition.
